New pitches, on-going projects, contracts, concept boards, mood boards, floor plans, new developments, period conversions, take walls out, put sliding doors in. It’s all flippin go! If you’d have told me I’d be doing any of this twelve months ago I’d probably have spilt my gin. So, yeah, I’m sorry I’ve been away but I’m well busy and loving it and client projects come first at the moment and inspiration for them is everywhere. In the midst of the madness I thought I’d share a concept board and some highstreet finds along with a few other cool pieces I might dare to share with unsuspecting clients. It’s all about mixing it up, once you’ve got your inspiration nailed for colour and texture off you shall seek for the perfect project piece…
Always on the look out and keen to give clients the best possible value for money, I’ve been mooching round, even with designer discounts and trade deals, sometimes you just can’t beat the highstreet behemoths and their industrial strength purchasing power. Here’s a few fab finds that might well find themselves on a client mood board..
- BHS – Check it out, soft, fluffy and gorgeously cosy, a bargain at 50% off and perfect colour for my inspiration board Mustard Luxury Throw at £50
- M&S Home are rocking it, I thought it worth a look after the Mother in Law commented on how fabulous the new LongBridge store was up in Birmingham. I think it’s so good – check out this gorgeous table lamp. Black, gold and curvaciously cool, it’s looking so much more than it’s £179 price tag…Tribe Curved Table Light
Sideboard, coffee tables, a bathroom shelf, your bedside table, things look better gathered and grouped and what better than this little glass and gold tray from H&M Home to hold them all in. Arrange tall and short in odd numbers and generally, little bitty things, anything smaller than a cantaloupe melon usually looks a bit lost. A bargain at £19.99
Coffee table in mango wood and fierce architectural legs, am loving this! FCUK Homeware are getting right amongst it on the homeware highstreet scene. A fab find and at £320 it’s a very decent price and would suit pretty much any scheme. Form an orderly queue!
Texture, form, colour, light all important nuts and bolts of a good design but can we just come back to the form and colour bit… I’m all for going to the extreme and these chair go by that very name. Inspiration for colour loving bold beings like myself, never mind the clients I want to take these home please!
Finally, I came across a really cool chick at Spitalfields market yesterday, Maria hand draws her illustrations lovingly by hand with fine ink pens. This chick sure got skills! Check out her work, her inspiration comes from the slightly macabre, quirky and otherworldly, dare to be different people! This is the Volpine Rose Beetle flock to her website for more details and buy her collection, she prints some gorgeous scarves too. I have such admiration for people that can draw.
I’m living, breathing and loving client projects right now so I’d better get back to work 🙂
Take care folks and thanks for stopping by. Rx
